You can rest assured that LXE will offer service contracts for years beyond your product's official retirement date. Our objective is to procure enough parts so that we can continue offering you ServicePass coverage for several more years after a product is officially retired. And our track record shows that we exceed 5 years in most instances.
For ServicePass repairs on retired products where parts shortages are starting to occur (aka "vintage terminals"), ServicePass customers will receive priority on incoming parts over non ServicePass customers. Since "hard to find" part deliveries are unpredictable, we will not be able to guarantee repair turnaround times for vintage terminals. ServicePass customer repairs receive priority; however, there will be occasions where we won't be able to repair a vintage terminal. If your computer cannot be repaired in a timely manner we will let you know within three days of receiving the product. And for ServicePass customers with vintage terminals, there will be no charge for repair analysis if LXE cannot fix them. Your options will then be:
As a further benefit for ServicePass customers, we will offer you, as a replacement, a newer equivalent model at a special discounted price. The new unit will operate with a 2.4GHz radio. If you take advantage of the offer, LXE keeps the un-repaired model and adds the replacement computer to your current ServicePass contract at no additional charge through the expiration date of your current contract. You would need to purchase any Premium Services for your new computer. Your non-retired LXE equipment will still be covered under the standard ServicePass terms and conditions. Only the vintage products at your site will be covered under the above modified terms. You will be given a list of your products that are covered under the standard ServicePass program and a list of vintage products that are covered under the modified ServicePass terms. LXE also offers an upgrade program which can be used to ease the transition to a new 2.4GHz RF backbone. We encourage you to continue covering your retired products under ServicePass, and we look forward to the opportunity to help transition you into new product at a discounted price in the event your computer cannot be repaired.
